Kinja'd!!!1 Kinja'd!!! 13

Anyone have one, specifically one that will help me feel better about what I just went through at my local post office.

Kinja'd!!!

So I ordered new shoes, a sample vinyl roll, and a few other little odds and ends. My shoes were ordered from the company who made them, everything else was Amazon. So I go in today to my post office to check my PO box, and I have a yellow slip saying I had something at the counter. I go up and am presented with 1 box, just my shoes. So I very politely asked if there was anything else, because I have multiple packages there from two different places. Immediately she got confrontational about it, and said there is nothing else, we go back and forth I show her my order status on Amazon on my phone and she reluctantly looks again. Comes back says there is nothing, and eventually she sends me off to another employee.

So I again explain to that employee what is going on and she tries telling me that my amazon stuff is inside of my box that wasn’t even from amazon.....what....So eventually she looks at who signs for it and just happens that my last name is the same as whoever signed it, so then blame game on me, saying that someone I know or me went and signed for it. Since I was at work at the time it was delivered to the post office, and I know NO ONE with the same last name as me in even the same state where I live.

So after we go back and forth what seems like a manager comes over and also jumps in the argument, explaining that it must be at the Fed Ex sorting facility, even though it says delivered to the address, without a note about not being there, which Fed Ex will do, it’s happened before to me. Then they claim that the address must not be on the package, even though of the 50+ packages I’ve received in the past year or so, I have not had a single occurrence of my address not being on a package. And that should never happen since my Amazon account automatically puts my address in, and unless someone screwed up so bad that they took effort to block off my PO box, or cut it off, then it can’t happen.

After 30 minutes of all this, GUESS FUCKING WHAT. My package was there, it was on a rack out back that no one bothered to check. I was handed my package and left without a word from them or me.

I used to manage a mailhouse, so I have lots. Here’s the funnest one:

We were mailing EDDM flyers for a client out of state. How it works is we’d ship the flyers along with the paperwork and postage check to the local post office that was supposed to deliver them. They were suppose to cash the check and deliver the mail. Well, we get a call from our client saying that the flyers never went out. I pull up my tracking which shows they were delivered to the local sort facility. T wo weeks later the box I sent is  delivered back to me as undeliverable. The box is all messed up and smells awful. I open it up and it’s filled with rotting Vietnamese seafood from Seattle. They sometimes find spectacular ways to fuck up.

Nothing too appalling here. When leaving Houston (sans moving van) I shipped eight boxes P riority M ail (2-3 day, wasn’t really any more expensive than sending parcel post ) to free up space in my car (I have no idea how I accumulated quite so much stuff). Regardless, of those packages, four arr ived on time. One arrived a day late (it was a weirdo, it was shipped as part of a batch of four , but got a delivery date listed a day earlier). The other three got to IAH and then received no tracking updates (beyond saying there was a delay) for over a week. Eventually (right around the time I’d make an insurance claim), they started moving again and were delivered the next day. There was no indication of any damage and all the labels were intact (though new ones were placed over some of the old). So I guess USPS just thought it’d be cool to leave express packages waiting around at the airport for no reason in particular.

Fedex though, they once stole a bunch of laptops from me. They had been delivered to a hotel mail room in preparation for a training, and then apparently at some point before I arrived, the Fedex guy said “hey boxes, I often put boxes in my truck, so let’s do that!”. Took Fedex a few days to track them down by which point I had already spent many hours setting up replacements and the training was on its last day.

My PS3 is currently lost in limbo because the UPS driver delivered it to the wrong location and doesn’t want to own up to it.

So I’m currently out a system and the money to get the system fixed.

That’s great.

My PO box is inside the Post Office as stated.

I had my new Go Pro 7 delivered to their, and instead of the post office sorting my package into the box, they sent it to the local college mail room across the city....makes sense.

N othing quite that extreme for me. Just the typical Priority 2-3 day delivery that takes  10 days so my Dad didnt get his birthday gift on time. Don't get me started on my lying UPS driver tho. That sumbitch thinks my neighbors shed is my front door and enters it as delivered as such.

Not United States Parcel Steal ers, but instead United Package Smashers:

When I worked at the salvage yard, we shipped out a front-wheel drive transmission on a pallet with steel banding, via UPS. Three weeks later, we got the transmission back, in a box in pieces. A week after that, we got the pallet back, in a box in pieces.

A couple Christmases ago, I kept getting boxes for another address on the other side of town, and these people were ordering a LOT of crap, it was a bunch of large packages a week for about a month. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of sending them all back every time, so I started delivering them myself. Not sure that the family ever realized that they were being dropped by me and not the postal service. But, I did once work for UPS for awhile, so close enough I guess.

I ordered some homemade jewlery for my sister from poland. The package arrived a month late, in a plastic bag soaked through with a letter from the postmaster apologizing because the water damag e obscured the shipping address. But he made sure I understood that it was around Christmas, and the high volume meant things like leaving packages to get soaked happens.

Jewlery was ok though.

Not nearly as frustrating, but I went a few months with a USPS driver contracted for weekend deliveries with Amazon who kept saying packages were undeliverable. This was despite me being home most times and knowing no attempt was made. Finally, on one nice day, I just stayed outside to wait. Sure enough, USPS truck rolls up, never slows below a crawl, drives off, and 30 minutes later the tracking page said that the package was undeliverable.

I still don’t get that dude’s deal. I guess maybe there’s some sort of GPS tracking, so he went on the route, but really hated working sundays and decided just to be an asshole.

After actually witnessing it, I was finally able to get Amazon to take me seriously and they put a note on my account to deprioritize shipping through USPS.

They suck. The one time I dropped a box with a preprinted label in their package drop, it never got scanned in. Just so happened to be the most expensive item I’ve ever shipped ($400). I try to go during business hours, so I can hand it to them. watch them scan it, and get a receipt. Never again!

I have a similar story.

UPS didn’t want to deliver sever al hundred pounds to my house, so instead he just ran up and slapped a slip on my door that was basically saying no one was home, when guess what, I was, my grandma was, and my aunt too. We were all there, he just didn’t want to deliver anything that day.

Icalled UPS and told them to send him back now, so instead of being nice and saying I would help I let him cart every single box from my driveway to my shed.
